Greenwich Village Apartment An interesting project, that began, as is often the case with a renovation, by reimagining the space. Originally, the sink was under the only window. While nice when washing up, with discussion, it became clear the client would benefit far more from having a small cafe table and chairs, set off by a lantern in the window and a dedicated gallery space for the kitchen. Here Spitalfields cupboards are hand painted Farrow & Ball’s ‘Railings’, a soft black, anchoring the floor cupboards topped with slabs of detailed marble. For a balancing juxtaposition, glazed wall cupboards are filled with interesting pieces and two discrete open wall shelves hold favourite found objects and materials.
